The Applications\Settings\Language dropdown in the apps shows only the Regional Settings name as you can see here:

That dropdown list should show a string combination of “Language - Regional Settings” from the project properties.
In this case, that would be:
English - Italian (Italy)
Italian - Italian (Italy)
These are the project properties where for both English and Italian Language I’m using the same regional settings:
