Change color of expand menu option depending on background

I am using “Use expand/collapse” on my menu. I’m using menu structure with no menu header. Menu theme is gleam/dark blue. The icon_expand.png image is black. Can’t be seem on the black background - you have to know it’s there. I want it to be white and change to another color when the menu is hidden. (Like SC does … the icon is white on black background … when clicked, the menu changes to a vertical menu and the icon changes to blue).

How can I change the color of the icon?

I would also like to know how to change the expand / collapse icon from black to another color… there has been no answer to this as of yet.

Got it… just changed the image scriptcase__NM__icon_expand inside of the _lib > img folder
