Conversion from v8 to v9

I am having a hard time getting my v8 projects to covert to v9.

I dont understand how I can have both v8 and 9 running on the same server? Installing php 7 seems to disable zen guard loader, so v8 stops working.

I have version 8 on another server. I activated the license. Then tried the “another server” option on the v9 server conversion.

Where to I get the DBMS version type? the Database name? What ports must be opened to maje it work?

Has anyone managed to convert a v8 project to v9?

If so could I hire you to convert 3 projects and send me back the v9 project backups?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

They install on different directories and the apache webserver should be set to different ports to divide the versions. I haven’t tried it yet, but I expect that the ports have changed by default on installation, but it’s easy to check and change.

Ma experience is on linux.
If you use automatic installation it will install on separate ports, use a new webserver and install in a separate directory tree. This worked for me without problem.
NetMake offers a licence key for v9 without having to relinquish the key for v8.1 (have not tried yet). This implies that you can run for a while on both versions. Looking at the amount of errors that have been reported it is wise to test the current projects on v9 but working on for the moment on v8.1

I tried to register V9. Both V8.1 and V9 work now, I can alternatively work on either one (using the same mysql DB)

Tgcostello, I understand this, it is a little frustrating this issue, the same inconvenience I had with version 7.1 to 8.1. It is not clear, information is missing. You stay at the point you do not know what to put in that part of the process.
Scritpcase should properly report that, I do not want to think that it does so on purpose to fall into paid support, which honestly, is not the best.

I do not have v8 and v9 on the same server… Can I somehow export the projects from v8 and import them in v9 (I have tried and it gives me an error). Is it supposed to be possible, or is it a bug?

I am using a Mac version of Scriptcase and have installed both v8.1 and v9 on to the Mac

To convert the project in v8 to v9, first you need to get the SC8 path

  1. Login to your Scriptcase v8 development platform

  2. Open Options | Settings from the main menu

  3. Select System Folders under Settings on the left panel

  4. Look for the [SIZE=12px]Configuration Folder Path Attribute[/SIZE]
    [SIZE=12px]5. Copy the Attribute value (e.g.[/SIZE]/Applications/NetMake/v81/wwwroot/scriptcase/conf)

  5. Login to your Scriptcase v9 development platform

  6. Open Tools | Converters | Version 8

  7. Under the SC8 Path enter the Attribute value without the “/conf” (e.g. /Applications/NetMake/v81/wwwroot/scriptcase)

  8. Select “Same Server” under the [SIZE=11px]SCRIPTCASE VERSION 8 DATABASE SERVER [/SIZE]

  9. Click on Convert button

  10. Select the project your want to be converted and click on Convert

I am now getting the following error for the v8 to v9 conversion, can anyone help resolve this?

I am having the same error in the project which i had convert from 8.1 version to 9.
How can i solve this?? Help Pleasee!

I had the same problem. Then I uninstalled SC9, deleted the folder /Applications/Scriptcase and installed SC9 again. After installation I changed the system folders to a path in my home directory (/Users/rolf/…)
Now I can migrate projects and compile them. Unfortunately I have a new error. When I open an application an start it I get the massage ‘No such file or directory in /Applications/Scriptcase/v9/wwwroot/app/project/grid_users/index.php’.
That means, that the old system folders are still active and I don’t now how to configure this.
