I just wondering I just copied out the app folder for backup. Now I reinstall the sc9 from zero. Now I can’t restore back the app folder. Please help. Thanks.
I guess you had to use the export function of SC instead of just copying the folders.
I’m afraid that you are in real trouble unless you have a full binary backup (somewhere). The problem is that you don’t have created a full backup because you haven’t copied the sqlite database that holds your project configuration. Instead there’s a backup function in your preference environment (and I hope you have used it once to recover as much as you can). So the general way to go is to create a full backup using Scriptcase, then re-install. And just to be on the safe side I always recommend making a full backup too so you can completely recover if something goes wrong…
Well my friend, you are in troubles.
It’s almost all said. App folder contains generated code from SC, and SC can’t restore from that. Projects in SC works as metadata inside SC database , and there are 2 ways to restore a project, restoring the original SC database with that project, or importing an exported project/applications (where metadata is stored and SC knows how to get from them).
Basically, if you don’t have the previous SC database, and/or you don’t have a project/applications export created by SC, your project is gone. Sorry.
