do pictures help get bugs fixed??? Express editor v6, v7, v8 (broken more)

Please, if you’re going to have features to aid our (your clients) ability to expedite repetitive tasks… please, please PLEASE make sure they work.

The project option to use Tools -> Express Edit causes more hurt than help.

  1. The model for header, body and footer is simply useless… NO in fact it creates problems!!! Please use the default settings to define what themes SHOULD be used rather than sticking some “random” theme in the select boxes.

  2. I realize somebody is going to ‘fire-back’ with ‘in the default settings one can select differing themes for forms, grids and etc.’ Fine… GIVE US THE OPTION TO SET WHATEVER THEME WE CHOOSE instead of always defaulting back to whatever somebody at NM decided to “drop” in as a default theme.

Here is the problem…
I do NOT want headers and footers on most all of the applications I produce… I want the headers and footers to show on selected apps such as menus etc. I NEVER want headers and footers on small screen devices (i.e. mobile) simply because real estate is too valuable to fill the screen with header/footer (besides… on mobile devices the headers and footers looks like crap).

Here is what should be the solution to my dilemma, I use the express edit to “remove all headers and footers” Problem one… the express edit in SC-v8 is randomly selective as to which apps it decides to remove the headers/footers (never had this problem with SC-v7… what happened in SC-v8???)

Next, in the express edit I select the apps I would like to display the header/footer (i.e. menus etc), however, I have to deal with SC-v8 cannot determine the project defaults I have already selected for my apps. Now I have to select the themes and PRAY (yes, using SC-v8 is becoming a religious experience for me… I seem to be praying that SC won’t screw-up all the other apps that I have spent many hours insuring my product is as “user-friendly” as humanly possible).

Next, AFTER I have used the express editor I have to go back through ALL my apps (100+ apps) that I have so carefully crafted to make sure that SC did NOT screw something up… like causing headers and footers to magically appear on random apps.

PLEASE NM Management… Create some sort of program/system where we (your clients) can post, review and see when you’re scheduled to address all of the issues you have so kindly expected us to find, identify and report… oops, my bad… there is no way to report issues.:rolleyes:

Sorry, but you told a little about the various things Scriptcase.

Can best explain what the primary problem so I can simulate in my system? After that I can be really helping.

I await a better explanation, if possible with pictures illustrating.

If the problem involves the previous version and this current one, please send me pictures comparing.
