I’ve found this situation since version 7:

There is no way to deploy anything to my site.
Version 4, 5, and 6 worked fine with same site and same parameters; Version 7 & 8 doesn’t.

Are you able to deploy to a zip file and then to your production environment?
Does any issue occurs?

I’ve tried your indication: Create a zip file, upload using my fpt software and decompressing in web server.
The application works fine. The bug is only when you try to deploy using the provided option(ftp) in SC7 and SC8.
