Field priming not working

I have a field which I need to assign value of 1. The type is INT(2)
I entered a value in EDIT FIELDS screen but when running App the field is empty

This field will be substituted just before insert. So it will not be on the screen. You have the initial value on the field properties for that.

Thanks Albert - if this is correct then at least I should get a value in the field when the record is saved - right ?
I will test if this is saved or not.
