why scriptcase use smf forum? and not create by scriptcase it self nice forum.?..
Re: Forum Scriptcase
Creating a good forum is a huge job, and I would rather prefer SC team to concentrate on creating tutorial, examples or adding new features. One thing that bothers me however is the fact they use SM FORUM, which is a low end software. It lacks of many nice features which other forum packages have. I would really want SC guys switch to PHPBB or smoething of that class.
Allowing file attachments (i.e screen shoots, or App examples, code etc.) WOULD HIGHLY DESIRABLE !!!

Re: Forum Scriptcase
Hello Arthur,
I find that the SMF provides all the functionalities required to a RAD software forum. But in any case I will take a look at PHPBB and other systems to find out if it would be better to our users.
Notice that on SMF it is possible to attach files by clicking in “Attachments and other options”.

OK, thanks for at least considering changes, that’s a god sign. The more you listen to the users the more succesful NetMake will be. It doesn’t akways mean you have to fufill all requests, but going by majority would be a smart way to do, so,…
why don’t we (USERS) vote here what would be the best forum to support the product community ?
one suggestion I might have is to choose a forum type which allow easily amnipulate:
- images
- code examples
- allows attachments to the posts
- allows easily locate and manage users own messages
- has well developed and organized search capability (means SIMPLE and ADVANCED search modes)

You can show code examples using

Are you disabled to attach files? I have checked our Attachment Configurations, and everything seems to be ok.

Click on any user profile, then click on Show Posts

By clicking on Search, you have a few options to search for topics, users, message age and so on. Are you missing any option?

Re: Forum Scriptcase
OK, but MAJOR LIMITATION is not being able to attach screen shoots and this is very frustrating!

Re: Forum Scriptcase
Hello Arthur,
Attachments were not available due to some SMF configurations. I have fixed and now it is possible to attach and download files, including images.
See this topic, EricB and me were both able to attach a file.

Re: Forum Scriptcase
Hello,
Aren’t they already black? Which fonts are you referring to?

Re: Forum Scriptcase
The list of posts is in blue, the message text is black. I know it is a minor thing but to read the post headers would be more convenient if the header fonts are black or dark blue.
