Hello Netmake - "Real World Suggestion" for you !

Hello Netmake,

I would like to suggest you put together a team of Beta users to test new Versions and updates. This team would consist of the “Real World” users of your application. Nothing against you and your team, but they know how it is written and should perform under ideal conditions.

I suggest you put this team together to test the functionality of Scriptcase by us the the “Real World” users in what we are doing with your system each and every day. I think a lot of the bugs and problems would be eliminated and all the end users would be much more happy with the application.

I myself am just now installing Scriptcase 9 due to the problems in the application. I do not want to fight bugs in my projects that are not my bugs. My time is very important to me and all of us to find problems in your application. We are not getting paid to find and report your bugs.

Lets help each other out and put together this test team. Please contact me and I can explain more on my ideas.

Thank you in advance,

Tim

Many here including me have suggested that all too often. There is no one listening a SC HQ.

Personally, I’ve pretty much given up on SC and will not be renewing any license with them.

Save your energy

“Save your energy”

I second that. It’s been my first effort since I started to work with SC. They were not responsive to that matter then, and they are not responsive now. In fact, currently it’s virtual impossible to get contact to anybody.

Oh my God, that can not be true. Netmake ignores his customers. The worst thing a company can do wrong. See also Kodak, Nokia. arrogance will bring Netmake down. My whole project is in jeopardy, just because some functions are no longer going. More than 3 years of work, for the trash. I am considering submitting a complaint. I hate nothing more than ignorance. what should I say to my paying customers?

Dr Tim,

I think we are already a beta tester team, at any rate I feel as such. Unfortunately there is no way back for us.

Yes, they launch a new release and then wait for response to fix. It’s the reason why I always waited for a few months before migrating. But currently I’m still at version 8.1 and have no intention to move. I can do anything I want in 8.1 and I recommend everybody to do the same as that’s a pretty stable and good version - besides the vulnerabilities that we fixed manually - .

I would not even have a problem with it if they quickly answer to our problems and take us seriously

I had unfortunately to migrate to SC9, since my provider has changed to PHP 7.0.
With SC 8.1 some functions not working correctly.

currently I have only problems with the new calendar/features, apart from small representation problems

Is not as catastrophic as you think. You just have to take into consideration one thing.

  • They don’t release beta versions to test. Then, you have to test and wait until you think version is stable for you. Is not so critical because you can have both versions, convert the project and test, and if not successfully, continue developing on previous version.
  • They don’t read the forums. If you have a problem (a bug) you don’t need to have support hired. Just send an email to bugs@scriptcase.net (is the normal procedure to report bugs)

Nice to hear something from Netmake. Certain statements may be true, but what if someone purchases a license for SC 9.XX, you tell him the same thing. “You can develop, but I would not deploy it”, that would be the same if the car dealer says, washing and looking your car, but driving is not a good idea.

if i test all functions from all 323 Apps after any updates, I would need longer than the next update comes out.

I have solved all problems up to the update 9.0.021. Only with the new calendar (all in all the Calender was a lot better), there are drastic restrictions, which my processes are throwing my strategy over the pile.

good to know that I can send bugs to bugs@scriptcase.net, that could have been said earlier. Just hope I’m heard.

Thank you Giu

Just to be clear, I don’t belongs to Netmake team.

ah ok, sorry Giu

Sadly, I am facing similar things with the paid support. I have been waiting 3 days for a response. A simple matter (except for me) but with time differences and a weekend I do not expect a response for another 3 days.

Well i think that because i am retired, i can work with v9 implimenting the latest relases at once and further have fun. I find SC amazing, its a wonderfull product but you have to think always in there way, and that is sometimes strange. But i am with you when you have many great older developments and have to migrate them, and i paid also one year for support, and i agree with prof Albert, you better do not that, wasted monney, just followthe forum h? dr Tim and gios and Albert, its much better and faster.
