HTTPS deployment login loop - Working on sub domain!

Hey guys, am having a problem on a new deployment, on initial upload I am stuck on the stupid scriptcase password change, I have set required folders to 777 and also tried the entire lib folder, both are failing…
I do have other platforms setup on sub domains of the same domain so there are no issues with server or any other setup as I have already deployed a few other platforms on the same exact server and all are working just fine.
Now I am not understanding why I have this loop, could it be due to the HTTPS?
The current domain has two sub domains (none https) where both have the same platform deployed and are both working!

Any ideas? help?

Would really like to get this solved and really dont see what is going on and why this is all of a sudden happening…

I don’t know what the problem is, but it’s not HTTPS afaik. All our applications run under https without any issues. Well, beside the known issues :wink:

known issues? am curious what other headaches I have to look forward too?

Hahahaha, I mean there are always some bugs and you need some work arounds there. What I meant to say is that SC does have bugs, but that https is working without issues. See https://www.nowdue.eu/prod/main_shopowner/ for prove.

So wonder if anybody else has any ideas???

Have tried re-uploading so many times now and confirmed on the sub domain that there are no problems with upload or well anything… sub domain is working just fine for the demo version, but now really need to get it up on the main domain. what a pain in the rear… Will patiently wait for some pointers maybe…

What might help is to use a XDebug client to see what’s going on. I think that there’s some kind of error that causes this behaviour. The redir after login is somehow not working well and perhaps there are some HTTP variables wrongly set, perhaps by your webserver due to some mishap in configuration. I think it’s a very simple problem, but hard to find.

Thats what freaks me out…i am not an expert at deployment, so when its time to deploy, i have to chose which environment. Though the obvious candidate is LINUX, I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH IT EXCEPT THE REAL BASICS!!!
So is a windows environment a good option?

Just kidding. Windows is an option of course, but is more expensive.

I have no personal experience with https configuring, but I remember in one host provider, when I tried to install the scriptcase system, I had to to change the folder and file permissions, but it wasn’t 777. It actually didn’t work with 777.

Take a look at this and this but in short it goes like this:

Access permissions:
Folders: 755
Files: 644

And now that I think of it, with a https server configuration, it might be coherent to discourage the 777 permission for “security issues” somewhere in the server configuration, I don’t know if that makes sense, but it’s no big deal to try it out.
