Import/Export and Backup/Restore is useless, ????

An upgrade crashed SC8.1. I did a complete install for latest version in CentOS 7.

At first I found that I cannot restore either project or user backup, it always return “Content Encoding Error”.

rr give me advice and suggest the following:

1: make a small project in your newly installed scriptcase
2: backup the project
3: make a full backup
4: remove the project from scriptcase
5: restart scriptcase
6: restore the full backup and see what happens
7: if that fails remove the projects again from sc
8: restore the project from step 2 and see what happens.

It still doesn’t work and return “Content Encoding Error” during restore.

For test I try to restore the backup just created on step 2 and 3. It don’t display error but hang on the “Loading” pop up.

So, I assume the project export/import and user backup/restore in SC8.1 is completely failed ??

I’m not asking individual application, but the system provided project export and user backup.

The backup files can completely extracted, is there a way I can manually restore the projects ?

I don’t experience similar issues. I use SC 8.1.038.

Can’t verify eather. We’ve been using these functions a lot. But it looks like a code-set issue as we (rr and I) are not working on Centos but Windows server.

Agreed, we are also using Windows for development.

Linux is supported by SC and I consider backup/restore is the most basic features for a development tools.

The backup/restore procedure is executed on the same machine after a new install.

So, SC’s support on Linux is very poor, as the most basic features is completely fail.

Please advice any method to restore the backup file/s.
