JAVA or JRE not installed in bluehost

hi,

I was informed from bluehost that they are not supporting or even installing JAVA and JRE at all.

really its too sad…

Any workaround to make the reporting in PDF works? (like using php pdf…)…
anyone please help…

Thanks.

Re: JAVA or JRE not installed in bluehost

Are you wanting to install SC on this host?

If this is just for production, then you should not need JAVA/JRE as SC use tFPDF (FPDF fork) and is PHP.
If you need to install SC on this host for development, then you will have to search for a host that allows this. Many shared do not.

Scott.

Re: JAVA or JRE not installed in bluehost

Hi Scott, thnxs for your reply. I appreciate it.

I tested it, at bluehost.
all export works (XLS,XML,CSV,RTF and Print as well).
However the PDF generated successfully but when opening adobe reader says “could not open file”.
The file size is zero.

What could be the problem?
What do I need at my Production Environment
PDF Server Protocol : ?
PDF Server IP : ?

Thanks a lot.

Hoping someone can help.

Re: JAVA or JRE not installed in bluehost

Do I need to install FPDF libraries in our server?

Re: JAVA or JRE not installed in bluehost

According to my knowledge, for the PDF which you create as export/exporting data (ex. pdf button on the grid…) needs JRE to create the pdf file…

and for the PDF application (which you can create by yourself using new application --> PDF report) don’t need anything to open…FPDF library is i think included in the _lib during deployment…
