Hi there,

I think Joomla 1.6 is one of the best Open S. CMS out there. How about a Joomla Module to use Scriptcase within this CMS. I am not sure how much work this is, but I am sure this will be a very useful feature. I would love to be able to use Scriptcase within Joomla 1.6 since there really is not much like it out there. Futhermore you would talk and advertise to much more customers once posted as a useful extension to Joomla. For example you could hand out simple forms as free extension to become part of Joomla extension directory.

A lot of projects could be powered up using scriptcase since you developed a very strong generator…

How about it?

I guesa you didn’t search this forum for “joomla” before posting this question?

Because there already is an extension for this: JScriptcase. It’s only recently released, and I’m not sure it works for 1.6, but on 1.5 it’s very promising!

I searched Joomla, but this is new to me…I suggested Joomla Module some month ago…if there is really something out there…whua…I Like…thank you…but why not make it scriptcase core…scriptcase could advertise to joomla community and customers will spend money on scriptcase instead of 3rd party extensions

I can understand why Scriptcase does not integrate this functionality in Scriptcase because Joomla is just one of hundreds of CMS systems. They focus on application development, and I think that’s ok.

There are a lot of “bridge” extensions available for Joomla, I see no problem with that. JScriptcase has just been released, when it proves to be worthwile, it will become available in the Joomla extension library as well I suspect.

I would suggest you start using JScriptcase, the more people do, the more issues will be resolved, the sooner this will be a mature product, the sooner they will have some budget for maintenance and keeping up with joomla updates.

The licensing is ill conceived, IMO, and a turn off for me. Got me beat why they haven’t followed the more successful model of annual subscription that is favoured by most commercial joomla extension marketeers.

I’m not that into license models. What’s wrong with the jscriptcase licence model?

The licensee is restricted to using the code on a limited and declared number of domains.

Conversely I have licensed programming tools and aids on an annual subscription basis that lets me get on with programming how I want, when I want and where I want.

wow…thats cool and awesome…tnx a lot for this post…scriptcase is not too popular but very powerfull and joomla is powerfull and popular its a very good combination…

Joomla 1.6 is the powerful and most popular content management system. this is very beneficial to expand the access control system. joomla 1.6 is perfect for the website with extra ordinary features.

Word of caution; Jscriptcase needs ioncube on the server, or your virtual host’s server. Check with your hosting service first.

Jep, tried to install the trial verison couple of weeks back, because the ioncube loader was not installed, couldn’t continue further…
Have to write to the hosting provider and see if they can install it for me…
