Joomla User integration

hello,
I am a new scriptcase user and I have no knowledge of PHP, how can integration joomla user in a scriptcase project ?

Sorry for my english

thanks

Re: Joomla User integration

Not sure if you are looking for how to add a SC project from Joomla, or trying to get a Joomla user access to a SC project.

For the 1st option, Joomla has a built in ‘wrapper’ component to include any website as embedded. Restrict access in Joomla as a register user to have access to the link for your SC app. There are also Joomla Extensions that can add more security (by user level) than the default that Joomla Provides.

For the 2nd case, you would create a connection for the Joomla DB/table that holds the user info and share the info. You of course have handle the user_info_id on your own since it is encrypted.

If this does not address your question, could you be more specific as to what you are trying to do?

Regards,
Scott.

Re: Joomla User integration

Sorry, but when i wrote my last message i was really confused…

I’m trying to pass Joomla’s logged user to the SC project. I need it becouse some information (in the report) must be visible only for some of the joomla’s users.

Regards
Marco

Re: Joomla User integration

Unless Joomla throws the user information in the active session for the world to see, I am not sure you can do this.
See if something like this helps. I may be only current in their sesson.
http://docs.joomla.org/Accessing_the_current_user_object

My approach would be to get a extension for Joomla that would extend the user security as mentioned and create user group.

Re: Joomla User integration

Is there any news on Joomla - Scriptcase integration features, in particular single-sign-on?

Scriptcase does not offer out of the box integration functionality…
The Joomla community does not offer any Scriptcase extensions…

I would like to integrate scriptcase applications in a Joomla website. Login should be single-sign-on, so only login in joomla is required. After login the scriptcase application becomes available for the user. So far no problem. But I don’t want the user to logon in scriptcase app again. This should be automated. In the scriptcase app, the user should only see his personal data.

Anybody any thoughts on this? best practices maybe?

(and yes, i’ve been away for a while on this forum, but now starting a new project for client needing joomla/scriptcase integration).

Re: Joomla User integration

I solved the problem with the component jumi, is very easy to use.
But soon released version 1.6 of joomla and the staff of scriptcase bit will think of something for easy integration.

thanks

Re: Joomla User integration

Hi Marcov,

Could you please let me know the basics of how to use Jumi to integrate scriptcase forms in Joomla
and create single-signon?

Thanks

Re: Joomla User integration

@marcov: if I understand you correctly, you use Jumi to pass the joomla user info (encrypted?) to the scriptcase login application? Could you please share some details, for me and the rest of the world?

Is your solution secure?

Re: Joomla User integration

Hi
my solution to pass the joomla user info is not encrypted.

Re: Joomla User integration

You can use JScriptcase for Joomla template integration and Joomla user integration:
http://www.ilerian.com

Re: Joomla User integration

Never heard of JScriptcase. Sounds promising, but google returns zero hits on Jscriptcase and I cannot find it on extensions.joomla.org. There’s no trial version, there ar no reviews.

This does not give me much confidence!

I would be happy to try the module, and if it works buy it…

Anybody ever tried Jscriptcase?

Re: Joomla User integration

This is a brand new product.
You can request trial from the contacts page.

Re: Joomla User integration

This is what Scriptcase says about Jscriptcase:

Hello Sir,

We don’t know this tool and we take no responsibility for it.

Regards,
Sales Department

Hopefully they will invest some time in testing JScriptcase in the future.

Re: Joomla User integration

I am running JScriptCase and playing with it.

So far I am happy. I am not totally done with all my integration, but hopefully in the next week or two, I’ll be in good shape.

Alan

Re: Joomla User integration

You can do that with Jscriptcase component for joomla, at the begining i have some issues with configuration but the support team of ilerian resolve this really fast.

I really recomend people to use it.
