License move - migration ?

Hi All,

I plan to “migrate” my SC8 from a win7/laptop to a Linux/VPS instance. I have one license which is active on win7/laptop, and a demo SC8 version on Linux VPS, that runs fine.

To move my projects I have to move the licence to the VPS, because import function is declined in demo - but if there is any problem with the migration, I have to continue my work on win7/laptop (to find the problems and/or forget VPS/Linux story). So my question: after the new license requested to VPS, will the old scriptace work on the old mechine ? (at least to solve the migration problems in projects files)

Just did that. SC helped me out with a temporary license for the new environment - so that I was able to have both working at the same time. Painless process to export apps from one environment to the other. You will need to have that temporary license - you can’t export / import apps in a demo. The only other issue that I had was with database views; had to recreate a couple (not a scriptcase issue).

Thanks Betty, that’s great. On database side i’ll do simple full backup-restore (as I recall views are included into the full export, perhaps in phpmyadmin ?)
