example when user 1 opens the form to add a record, I only want user1 to see its allowable companies and locations based on the users rights found in the user_location_access and user_company_access tables
so user1 (will show companyX, companyY, companyZ in the pull-down list, will show locationA,C,D), preventing them from entering data for locationB

example when user3 opens the form to add a record, I only want user3 to see its allow companies and locations
so user3 (will show companyY only, will show locationA and C only

Any ideas or suggestions?

You need set in WHERE CLAUSE: userid = ‘[user_name]’
[user_name] is your variable global

no, that’s not a solution. table1 doesn’t have a user_name. table1 one has multiple fields company and location, it is these 2 fields that need to be limited in the pull down lists, based on the the security tables that have users and the available company and locations.

For an add only situation that might work if I did lookups to those fields based on user_security tables, but those two fields are looking at the actual data in table1

you can create a view in the database where you include the user and the fields they have access to. then in the settings of the grid you can specify the where clause.
then you link the specific record to a form so you can edit that field
