Member Login and Restricted View and Rights to Modify

HI, I am new with scriptcase, php, MySQL, but am learning them all. I would like to set up a public website with members with email/password login. Each member will then be able to login and view and modify their own records (like their profile), or add comments and the system will record they added comments.

I think that the scriptcase security module will take care of all that is needed such as creating cookies / sessions and all the steps needed to facilitate a membership system. Can someone confirm?

I have viewed/read the following, but am not entirely sure.

In general: yes. However, to be sure that people can only see/modify their own data you need to set the correct filters to the sql and tables. So you need to see at each and every record who created it and who is allowed to view/change it.
