Migrating from 8.1 to 9 - under Linux

I have created a new installation of V9 on another PC (Linux/SUSE) and it appears to work. What I need to do is migrate my main applications. I copied my projects into the new app directory first. I then copied the nm_scriptcase.db file from /v81/wwwroot/scriptcase/devel/conf/scriptcase to /v91/wwwroot/scriptcase/devel/conf/scriptcase as I have done before but Scriptcase9 threw an error straight away and even my login password stopped working.

So, what is the correct procedure for migrating my V8.1 ScriptCase projects to V9?

Ok, I have just tried the export/import facility and SC V9 says “The file was noy created by Scriptcase version 9” - note “noy” is part of the message, not my typo.

Ok, read some more and there is a converter in the SC menus.

I copied everything over to /opt/NetMake/v81 on the new PC. Now, the convert routing asks for the path to Scriptcase V8. The examples are for Windows so no help. I tried the following:
/opt/NetMake/v81/wwwroot/
/opt/NetMake/v81
/opt/NetMake/v81/wwwroot/scriptcase/
/opt/NetMake/v81/wwwroot/scriptcase/devel/

None, worked. So, what is the path that is required?

Hi,
The process for migrate from SC 8.1 to SC9 works this way :

  • Launch SC9
  • Go to menu Tools/Converters/version 8
  • You will be asked for your SC8 Path : where you copy the whole v81/scriptcase (something ending like …/wwwroot/scriptcase if I understand your config)
  • Choose the projet you want
  • be patient
