ms sql server databases with instance name

will scriptcase 8 work with ms sql server 2008 with an instance name?
my server is sql-2010\GCINTRANET

it worked great on the dev machine in creating the app
now I deploy and get errors on creating the connection.

Connection Error

Unable to connect: SQLState: 08001 Error Code: 5 Message: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [5]. Have you create the connection to the ms sql server on the target machine?

I have tried. I get the error in the first thread on the web server
