Multiple Projects

Is it okay/possible to have 2 projects open at the same time? This would allow me to “flip” back and forth between the 2 so I can see what differences there are, or use it to add a feature that exists in one project to another more easily.

I am not home right now so I can’t try it, but I am wondering if I am able to do it, if it might cause any kind of corruption.

Thanks,
Alan

Re: Multiple Projects

Not that I am aware of. The closest that I could suggest would be to export the form from Project1 and import into Project2 and then delete when done.

Re: Multiple Projects

That’s a bummer, would have been a good way to pick thru say one of the example apps, and then add the form or feature from it to another project, basically built my application while learning how the existing application was set up.

I have an Enterprise license. I am the only developer, there is no one else. Does my license allow me to run SC on 2 computers, so I could set them next to each other and essentially do the same thing?

Re: Multiple Projects

You should be able to. I would setup a Virtual Machine with dual monitors (or you can use 2 PC’s if you prefer)

Re: Multiple Projects

I will give it a try tonight or in the morning. If it works, it will help me out a lot.
Thanks,

Re: Multiple Projects

Nope won’t work, trying to use 2 vm’s, but SC will only let me have one registered…
License must be by computer, not by developer.

I will try to run the second one in Trial mode since I’m really just wanting to open it up to make it easier to pick and choose what I want to add to my new project over in the other vm

Re: Multiple Projects

I actually can open SC up again on my 1st VM, the one that’s licensed, however I don’t know if by running 2 sessions of SC on the same computer, even though it’s 2 diff projects, will that screw anything up?
