Changing the width of cells in Layout PDF / Interface does nothing. In order to change the actual width of the field to be displayed in the PDF you have to click on fields, find the field and set the width of the field there. It would make sense to have the ability to change the width in Layout PDF since this is where you position / preview everything for PDF generation.
