pdf creating WITHOUT JRE

It would be great to create pdf without the need of JRE. As long as we can use an intranet server, it was no
problem. But when the app comes to an official ISP server, most of them refuse to install JRE for security reasons.

Re: pdf creating WITHOUT JRE

uuuggghh/! that sucks!

So how can we resolve this ?
I use HOSTGATOR and don’t know yet if they offer JRE?

Re: pdf creating WITHOUT JRE

Hello Arthur,

You have to contact Hostgator and ask them to install Sun’s JRE on your environment.

@EricB, JRE will no longer be necessary on SC 6.

Re: pdf creating WITHOUT JRE

Hello,

I have just heard from our development team, and they don’t have an official date. I’d say probably around SC 6.2, but that is just a guess.

Let’s hope … ^^

Re: pdf creating WITHOUT JRE

To create pdf without using JRE, we can use FPDF.

However, I think the current SC6 needs client side JRE to work for certain feature such as the progress bar. When i use a non JRE supported device to access my website, when it comes to the progress bar, it just get stuck there but no problem when i use a JRE supported device.
