performance of scriptcase applications on the web

Does anybody have experience with scriptcase application(s) on the web? What’s the performance like?

I’m developing a booking system at the moment. Some of my applications (forms) contain quite a numer of fields and logic. I found out that the size of the php/js files is quite large…

Re: performance of scriptcase applications on the web

I have several projects out and several in the works. There are a few apps that have many fields and they behave rather well. I think it depends on the server. All my current apps are on dedicated servers that we built/own so that helps.

If you upload your project to a shared server that houses many sites (ie godaddy), then you are subject to their processing speed:

You can use:
http://www.domaintools.com/reverse-ip/

You can lookup an IP/domain and it will tell you how many sites that server hosts. I have seen >10K on one server at some of the bigger hosts.
That’s just not right ;p

Scott.

Re: performance of scriptcase applications on the web

To further this… I created several websites (Joomla based) and they were on Godaddy. The server was hosting 3500+ sites and it was taking 20+ seconds to load a page (even longer in some cases). We decided to build a server and move the site and now the pages load in < 2sec. If a heavy Joomla/CMS website can load in < 2 sec, your app should act fine on a good server.

Scott.

Re: performance of scriptcase applications on the web

Do you know of any scriptcase applications running online which I can try? (besides the netmake tutorial applications).

Re: performance of scriptcase applications on the web

Freezer,
I should have a beta of mine online in about a week.

It’s essentially a Yellow Page application. It only will be in Beta, but hopefully by the first part of January, it will be fully functional.

Once it’s up, I can give you the URL. It’s being hosted on a dedicated GoDaddy server that’s located in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

Re: performance of scriptcase applications on the web

thanks man, I would appreciate that very much!

hi, can you share with us the booking system you created? I’m interested to build one, but don’t know where or how to start :eek:
