tks for a info, PHP 8.2’s security support ends on December 31, 2026

Wouldn’t it have been better to opt directly for 8.4?

Regards

Yes, welcome to Scriptcase! Regards.

I would have preferred 8.4 too. 8.5 came out a couple of weeks ago. Having only stepped up by +0.1 means we’ll likely be in the same position at the end of next year!

No response or clarification from the admins / mods / or developers on this matter… I wonder how they would dare to want people to buy their product… after years of silence on the matter… truly shocked… support for the latest versions of php should not be optional but among the priorities if you are professional and ask for money… the rest is just talk

See Php (8.1) end of life - Scriptcase 9 / General - Scriptcase Low-code. Essentially, they’re still working on the new version.

…unfortunately, we do not have an estimated release date yet.

After 4 years since the release of PHP 8.1, this is not a professional response, nor is it professional behavior… they could have anticipated the release times and the use of a PHP release that is still supported by years… so I would send this response straight back to the sender, a response that demonstrates their poor management skills…

What happens if an APP generated by scriptcase is run on a server with PHP8.4 ?
Does it work or not ?

Hi
If you upload and run a ScriptCase app on PHP 8.4 without modifications, you will likely encounter fatal errors or warnings due to language changes and incompatibilities (especially if your app uses deprecated features or custom PHP code).

Hi
We will have compatibility with 8.2 in a month…

In 11 months we will be back to square one with a version that is no longer supported, we might as well have at least aimed for 8.4

For now, that seems to be the solution. I hope that during the year there will be an improvement to 8.4 or 8.5.

I don’t believe it. If they’ve been stuck at 8.1 for 4 years, imagine if they upgrade to two versions of PHP in one year. Any doubts are legitimate.

The difference is that they had 4 years to migrate from 8.1, and only 1 year for 8.2

That’s exactly what I meant. If it took them 4 years to update to 8.2, imagine if after updating to 8.2 they will take a short time to update to 8.4/8.5… it’s statistically unlikely… that’s what I meant, I wouldn’t bet on it.

As you can see, December has passed and not even a shadow of 8.2 has been seen… imagine you who were confident in 8.4 or 8.5 within the year… I was right to tell you how much… professionalism is seen from the foundations… there’s no point in adding features if the foundation is what it is and they’ve had time to make updates… I feel sorry for their customers

I said in a month two weeks ago… I’m not SC staff, I just gave information I obtained.
we will se…

Your post actually dates back to December 12th. I know you’re not part of the SC staff, but it was just to tell you not to trust anything they say or read about it anymore… from experience.

This has happened to one project of mine that uses 8.1 it just switched off - I knew this was going out of support and this particular site stops working because the ISP has a strict php update policy. so I can’t use any PHP apps it until SC release version 8.3 minimum. All the work done on this site now has to be redirected to a local install until SC pull their finger out, and get updating, they are on the ball when they need their subs. SC support is not good, in this instance the client has his hands tied by what his company uses. fortunately I have the majority of my apps with a super ISP company - Site ground who will support end of life PHP apps

Unfortunately, the history repeats itself…
