Php (8.1) end of life

Thanks for letting me know about SourceGuardian, we upgrade stuff when my IT team inform us of vulnerabilities (weekly reports I think), SourceGuardian has never come up, it’s typically openssl, php or apache that have high/critical vulnerability updates.

When Scriptcase releases the new version with >= 8.2 (ideally 8.4 as 8.2 only has 1 year before EOL) I’ll probably do a fresh install instead so that sourceguardian updates and do manual incremental upgrades thereafter.

If you upgrade above 8.1 (8.2+) and SC still works  please let me know how it goes because we are forbidden in our business to use any vulnerable software due to strict compliance. 8.1 has only 2 months left before EOL.

thanks for letting us know, that’s fantastic news! I was at the webinar but only arrived when she demoed the new AI integration so I missed any info on php.

And PHP 8.5 is just released… pfff.

Preparing for code migration to the old PHP 8.2 release.

Is there any news about the PHP version?

Sent a support ticket this morning, here’s the response.

"Hello, sir.

A new version using a more recent PHP version is currently under development, however, unfortunately, we do not have an estimated release date yet."

Hi
We will have compatibility with 8.2 in a month…

regards.

So in a month (2026) we can work with PHP 8.2 that was released in december 2022… Great. My provider doesn’t even support PHP 8.2 anymore…

I feel your pain, sorry. The situation isn’t ideal even for the general populace that can support php8.2. “If” a new version of SC is released in Feb, we’ll be in the same situation again in 10 months time waiting for php8.3 to be supported.

Scriptcase is taking their time, they must be getting ready for version 8.4.
:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

They’re waiting for AI to replace us this year, so they can all go to the Brazilian beaches to rest forever.

My provider charges extra for anything below 8.3 “extended” support. I’m not sure how I can expect customers to put up with this any longer.

My provider also warned me against using a PHP version higher than 8.1.x. The consequence would be taking all my Scriptcase applications offline.

Has someone tried this on SC generated code and it worked? Can you share experience?

**As you can see, December has passed and not even a shadow of 8.2 has been seen… imagine you who were confident in 8.4 or 8.5 within the year… I was right to tell you how much… professionalism is seen from the foundations… there’s no point in adding features if the foundation is what it is and they’ve had time to make updates… I feel sorry for their customers

I said in a month two weeks ago… I’m not SC staff, I just gave information I obtained.
we will see.

Your post actually dates back to December 12th. I know you’re not part of the SC staff, but it was just to tell you not to trust anything they say or read about it anymore… from experience.
