I have to create an application to print a set of financial reports. The report has, say 10 pages, some have fields on then, other are just standard text.
How would you approach designing that application?

I should also note that the 10 pages are all from one client record. This is not like printing from a grid.

The following library works perfectly once you get the hang of it. You design your template in word. It handels the tables and overflows. For financial reporting you want to keep the structure, but not worry about new items that should be reported. It also allows you to customise the text on the fly and support image replacement, tables … and other.
We use it for our users to personalise an sign documents before sending them out all from the frontend without them editing. But because it can export to docx, you can edit the created doc afterwards.

i build very complex reports using CSS and bootstrap, and output to pdf. (i dit have issues with included SC thirdparty lib, and had to download and install dll manually)
CSS does support page brakes, headers, footers, TOC,
as a bonus you can fine tune it for the screen preview , use same code to preview reports in the browser.
nowadays you can ask AI to make it for you.
