Privilege to Insert, Update, Delete, Export, Print disabled...

Hi,

I had enabled the security module and subsequent to that I created a few new forms - form_customer_new, form_invoice, etc. I did a Sync Applications from the menu and when I see the new application listed, it does not allow me to select the check box for insert, update, delete, export, print as the check boxes are disabled.

Can somebody help as to why this is happening.

You have to upgrade to a newer version. The old one has a bug that is not inserting the type of application into the security tables. I ran into that.

I have SC set up where it does the version checks and asks for update automatically. I have 8.1.015 currently. Do I need to delete the security applications and regenerate it? If yes, do I need to clean the DB as well?

I would check the code for synchronizing and apply the formtype. At least that’s how I fixed it. It was reported to scriptcase and promissed that it was corrected, but since I have other customizations I wasn’t able to try. But look into your sec_tables and you will find the formtype empty.

Thanks a lot @aducom. I did find the bug in the code and cleared it. Now, it is working fine. I have also submitted a bug report - let us see when they fix it.

Lets hope so. I even send them the corrected code…

There seems to be some regression. I revisited an older set of applications today and added a couple of grids. After synchronization, I could not amend the Export and print settings for the 2 new grids.

Having spotted this post (After wasting a LOT of time trying to find out what was wrong… GRRRRRR), I checked this out and sure enough, there was no entry in the app-type field for the two grids. When I MANUALLY added the correct entry, everything worked fine. ( I HAVE NOT changed the security module in months… if not years)

I have the latest, fully patched version of the software and the process has worked fine in the past. I presume this has regressed during an update.

I LOVE this software, but these things are beginning to cost me more time and effort than it’s worth. I wouldn’t mind so much if I thought things were improving, but

I for one have begun to look for a replacement as their claim to 80% time saving is completely undermined by this kind of nonsense.
