I have a number of applications especially grids and the dashboard which should be read only accessible by the public but need user credentials to edit.
The menu, grids and dashboard should be accessible to public as read only. editing only to logged users. The structure for logged in and public users should be the same apart from permissions. i tried creating public group but it didnt work. How can i achieve this?
The approach would be to create a ‘hidden’ login page that will log the user in as a default public user and redirect to the required url. I.e. main.php?func=‘main_student’; Then in main.php you set user and password to the default read-only user and log on (copy code from the standard scriptcase application) then sc_redir to the required function.
