In the search options -> quick search I ticket the radio for “Display the quicksearch old format” to no.
Now this option disappears from the settings.
How to get this option back?
I also get a lookup field left besides of the quicksearch in which there is only one option to choose “All fields”.
How to remove this and/or how to influence the loop-up options?

Control application has search properties? I don’t see it.

Sorry, I cannot reproduce the extra choice for old or new in the moment.
In the third attached image you see a copy of what is in the manual. That is what I saw in the grid and after making a choice for new it’s away.
I will do some test comming days.
But neverthe less:
You can see in the first attached image that there is an extra select field left of the quicksearch which comes together with quicksearch.
How to get it away or other way around “how can I programm the select”. Looks a nice feature.
There is only one way left which could help is to make a complete new grid. But I donot like that.
And what is the function of: “Maintain search condition”.
It does not having any effect in the grid (also not in new made grids).
Slowly I come to the conclusion that or the manual is bad or the software V8 has to many bugs or I donot understand the tips and trics of sc enough or a combination of this.
I cost me too much time and customers are waiting.
What is this in relation with Quick Search

To whom are your refering to Bert? Only volunteers here. If I don’t have the answer I simply don’t reply. And I still don’t know as I always remove this option.

I guess this is keep the conditions checked if you go back to search-> gri-> then search again.
about the old serach thing, if you can’t see it when creating brand new grid, I think this applies only to those grid which created in earlier versions of SC and then imported to v8, i can’t see it in my grids those created in sc8.

Well then I suggest you learn to read Mike, it’s impossible to miss the roadsigns to Groningen if you are in Zwolle. 
Yes! It was about 3 years ago, first night driving alone, 11pm or so, raining strongly, navigation got off, all what I could read around were signs paointing to Zwolle, after a while found myself in Apeldoorn, it was a hell night to me
I got the same bug as in your picture however I’m rather certain on why I’m getting it and I can somewhat fix it. For me it seems to be produced by having a field in my search that isn’t originally from the table that the grid was made with. (Basically a manually added field which uses look-up to get and display info) And it looks like it is produced by Scriptcase making an invalid SQL query for the search. To be fair I could be completely wrong, only been using Scriptcase for about 4 days now.

Thanks for your answer. For me Zwolle is not a nightmare. That you lost the road, has this something to do with scriptcase?

I donot refer to anybody. Only thing is that I try to avoid many hours of experimenting. In this I do my best to find out for myself before going to the forum. Many will agree with me that the manual is not the best and mostly not actual.
In my opinion it should be a contribution (a gift) to the development of sc when somebody after serious experimenting tries to describe his problem.
Do I understand that sc-development is not looking in the forum?

absolutely no offense for Zwolle, that was my mistake, in fact it turned out that late night in Apeldoorn was sooo “nice” after all - and yes isn’t related to SC, we just have some fun sometimes, doesn’t harm

Only in bugs section, bartho may come with standard phrase “Issue reported to our bugs team” Nothing else expected, even if the issue was solved after a century
Hi, I’m having the same trouble with the quick search… a rapid search on the forum bring me to this discussion… It seems that with a grid created under scriptcase 8 we cant’t have anymore the old format option in quick search settings…
How can I recreate in scriptcase 8 this quick search?
