Reg. Document(Filename) not opening files with special Character in its name.. ?

HI,

We have PDF files located in the server and name contains Special characters in it… like as below

ZFileName
30-0941-20-E.pdf
30-0941-22-D.PDF
30-0941-80-A.PDF
B64-ED7966±SI-015-OR.pdf
UAF-ADC-10-4-OR.pdf
UPS-OVEN CURING-01-B.PDF

The filenames with “+” is not operning up…?
Is the special characetes allowed in Document(FileName) field…! If no Is there any other alternative…?

I thought ‘+’ was an allowed character, but perhaps SC is doing something funny with it. I myself would not use it as I associate it with con+cat (in my head).

I would try:
-Uploading the file as is and see if you can download it in a URL
-Turn on error checking and see if SC spits out any problems
-Use FF and check the error log
-Change the file name

SC is not allowing to upload files with + character, Traps error, upload failed

-Turn on error checking and see if SC spits out any problems
I use Forms to upload files and doesn’t see any error message
I use grid to open and show files doesn’t see any error message

-Use FF and check the error log
What is FF…! where do i check…?

-Change the file name
Since the files already in use and have more that 20000 files and linked to legacy ERP system that is in production system and + is the part of Itemcode…! and not possible change…!

Please advise what is FF…? and where do i check logs…!

Is there any way to find the path and filename returned by SC and Change some where in the middle…?

FF = Firefox
Menu: Tools/Error log
Also, Firebug and Web Developer are great extensions.

Hello,

The field that use this type Document File, was created in Scriptcase or in your database ? If was created in your database which type do you set the field ?
And in your php.ini, whats the size of your upload_max_filesize ? You can see this in your diagnosis file in Scriptcase.

I will repeat my Question in detail…

  1. I have files stored in the File server
  2. I have created grid application with the Document(FileName) type
  3. I am passing the Filename as value to the Field
  4. SC can able to open files by clicking the Link in Document (Filename) field except some files 'Saying File not found"
  5. After analysis I found that the files which contains ‘+’ character

ZFileName
30-0941-20-E.pdf
30-0941-22-D.PDF
30-0941-80-A.PDF
B64-ED7966±SI-015-OR.pdf
UAF-ADC-10-4-OR.pdf
UPS-OVEN CURING-01-B.PDF

Here all files are opening except B64-ED7966±SI-015-OR.pdf and if i remove ‘+’ it is also opening…!

Now My Query is filenames with ‘+’ is allowed in Document(Filename) type Field…? Is there any setting to accept…?

If it doesn’t support…? is there any alternatives…?

Curious to see the Fix… 5.01.0011 But for this problem No more fix… I was waiting more than 2 months and already 2 releases made…!

Let Netmake Support look into this and release Fix at the earliest

Same problem with Scriptcase 6 !!!
All the filenames with a “+” can’t be open or download.

For example : KE12-065VF608+PDC600.xls can’t be open.

And all the filename with japanese character appears correctly in the grid app, but when i want to download a file, scriptcase change the name with strange characters like アレックス.docx

Please help, it’s very urgent !

File Download problem with + contain files in php

Hi Friends,

+ symbol contain file download problem!!!

All the filenames with a “+” can’t be open or download.

For example : c#,c++.pdf can’t be open.
if i remove that ++ means file download working…

can u please any one help meeeee…

Well, there are numerous posts of rr regarding this issue. I really have no idea what-so-ever why SC is not taking over his source code but invent the wheel by doing only partial implementation.
