Is there a way to completely remove the legend from a chart?

I can hide the legend that’s not the problem.
The problem is that the space where the legend normally is displayed stays reserved.
So if I want to display a 2D Pie chart without legend in 600x600 dashboard widget I get a small chart with a lot of white space underneath …
