SC v9 Question, Can not import projects from v8 !

Hi,
I downloaded v9 and installed it, every thing went smoothly and the new version looks great
My problem now is i can not import a backup file for the project that exported from v8, always receive the following message: (The file was not generated with Scriptcase version 9.)
Is there any solution for this problem?

Hello IAX;

I think you are doing wrong way, the import/export option you can use only when you did export those application from version 9, once you export application in version 9, than you can import in the same version.

but you want to migrate your application from version 8 to version 9, for that you must Migrate first,
follow those steps.

 1. goto Tools/Converters
 2. choose your previous version number.
 3. enter your previous version scriptcase root path C:\Program Files (x86)\NetMake\v81\wwwroot\scriptcase
 4. than click next and so on.

Version 9 will read all the files and will migrate all your application.
DO NOT INTERRUPT THE PROCESS.

once you migrate process finish, than export your any application make backup and than you can import

hope you got that.

Ahmer

And I believe this never affects the version 8 folder right? I recall it did not moving from 7 to 8.

SC folder is so huge takes too long to back it up.

I have the same problem. I cannot import/export apps from 8 to 9.

When I try to use Convert then I am getting message “Incorrect path” - I know the path is correct though…

I actually wasted 3 days already, and I am extremely pissed at this point…

NetMake may want to consider informing the user that a migration will first be required (when SC versions do not match).

I also have a question here:

My structure looks like this:

 • /wwwroot/user/htdocs/folder/
• scriptcase/ (v8)
 • scriptcase9/ (v9)
If I enter the path of sc8 (/wwwroot/user/htdocs/folder/scriptcase/) and press convert sc9 does something and eventually displays a message:

Migration finished with success!

Actually that looks quite promosing; however, after a logging in again, the project list stays empty…

Could anyone tell me what may have gone wrong?
Thank you.

Best regards,

I have the same problem but no one seems to have answers why projects don’t show up after conversion?

This does work on Windows, so I suspect one of three things :

 1. Number of applications - mine was less than 150
 2. Faulty converter for Linux (A bug?)
 3. Privileges on Linux which could potentially prevent it from writing to the new folder (Still i would expect SC to drop an exception in this case, but worth checking)

Can you check the tail logs?

My 2c’s worth. I just tried conversion of my 8.1 projects. As stated by others at the end of the process there were no projects listed in SC9.

However, I then clicked the “Open Project” icon. The page refreshed and the converted project lists appeared. (Tried and proved on Win10-64 and LAMP.

Cheers

Hello Ahmer,
I really appreciate your help, Now another problem: i can not assign version 9 theme (the only theme that came with the released version), it is not shown at all, i can only use it if i have created a new project from scratch but it is not possible to see it in the themes list if i converted the project from 8 to 9 !!
I am wondering if anyone has a solution for this case …

Best …

Hi - I am having the same issue. I converted all my 8.1 projects, but they are not showing up in the project list. Please help!!

What happen when scriptcasev9 is installed on other computer not on same computer that I have v8, how to import a v8 project there?

If after migration you can’t see any projects, its due to dev user permissions. Go into settings and fix the project permissions.
