I am wondering when this new version will be released. Is there any approximate timing about it.

Hello.
From what they announce, SC 9.12 is not going to be very new. 2 or 3 insignificant things…Nothing important. (Except for the usual errors and problems).

Improved text editor, with AutoComplete? Integration with AI? IDE performance? None of that…

What worries me most is entering the link to the new version announcement banner, and first of all seeing a button to go to SC Sales…
They are destroying SC… Faster than they think.
In 35 years working in the field, I saw this many times…

Thanks for your reply. I agree with you. SC made very good jumps with versions 7 and 8 but since then it became much slower.

I hope this will be improved soon because SC would be one of the best in this area. I used other IDEs but really did not find same capabilities. Yet, and again it needs to be much more faster and integrate the recent trends especially mobile apps and AI.

I hope the 9.12 comes with better Gantt Chart and Menu capabilities as I use external libraries now and I think it will help a lot in streamlining the development process. I hope also they re-design the Dashboard module.

I don’t know if it’s one of the best IDEs… He has nothing to do with Windev, for example. An error that should be remedied is that the IDE runs in a browser, for example.
The Menu, and the graphics, are less important at this time. In my case, I am limited in a lot of aspects. I’m used to a TREMENDOUSLY POWERFUL and FAST tool (Clarion), and it’s very frustrating SC, when it comes to doing advanced things.

It is VERY SERIOUS that they do not get involved in the forum. There is no direct participation or response to this type of proposals. They only spend time advertising (which is often misleading)

I’m seriously thinking about migrating apps to Clarion + Nettalk, or Windev. If SC keeps thinking that they are going to sell for marketing, instead of improving the tool, I think their days are numbered.
