Hello,
Is this the same issue your reported on this topic? http://forum.scriptcase.net/showthread.php?3571-SC7-Custom-url-link-not-working-in-Editable-Grid-Form
regards,
Bernhard Bernsmann
That is funny Bernhard, you are link to a other topic which does not give anwser to the question.
People may be waiting for an anwser.
Hello Andre,
Are you facing the same issue as well? I asked for further information on issue so we can work from there.
If you are, What sort of link have you created? Is it linking a Editable Grid Form to what kind of application? Is it an external link?
regards,
Bernhard Bernsmann
Hi Bernhard,
I have a simular problem. See my thread http://forum.scriptcase.net/showthread.php?3781-New-record-in-an-editable-grid-view
I have a editable grid view which is a part of a master/detail form.
I have made a link to a form to update the data of detail record. But when I click on the pencil, at first I can edit the record in the grid it self. When I click the button to update the record I get my form. It should go directly to my form.
When I enable the option “Use modal form to edit” on the editable grid view, the same thing happens but the with a modal view and when I click save it goes to my form.
This is a really strange behaviour of the program and find no way to prevent the editing in the grid or modal view. So it goes directly to my form.
Thanks
Andre
BTW I use version 7.00.0005 (Professional Edition MySQL)
Andre
Hello Andre,
Is this issue only happening on detail applications? If you only run the same application without the master, does the issue happens?
regards,
Bernhard Bernsmann
Hi Bernhard,
It happens in both situations. So if the screen is a master form and when it is a detail form.

Hi Bernhard,
I have installed version 7.00.0006 and now it is even a bigger problem.
When I click on the pencil is shows me the modal view, when I click exit I go back to the list (grid). When I click save I go to my own form which I linked to the editable grid view. When I press Exit/Back it goes back to the modal view and when I click exit again it goes to empty screen.
If you want I can sent you I sample movie of it.

Can you upload a sample (export app with sc, not the deployed app …)? I have many master/detail apps, but not this problems …
Hi
Click the link to download a move about what is happening.

I will try to build an sample. But what do I do with the database?
Andre
Hi
Hereby a sample project
http://www.filedropper.com/sc201303260913bkptest
database:
http://www.filedropper.com/testaddress
Main application is grid_customer.
If you edit the customer Company1. And the click on the pencil by contact Andre. You will see the modal view of the grid (id,customerid, name, phone), if you click then save you go to the form form_contact with the fields (id,customerid, name, phone and email).
This last form I want to use, because it has more fields then the grid. The first form (the modal view) should not be shown.
If you then click on Exit, it goes back to the modal view, if you click exit again it should go back to the grid but it shows nothing.

The file(s) are corrupt …:
Hi
I can download them without any problem.
Can is send with PM?
Andre
My mistake, sorry …

Your problem is, that form_contactlist is a form. You can indeed deactivate form / settings / Use modal form to edit to “No”, but this changes only to inline editor. Your contactlist should by a grid, then you can link the pencil to your form_contact.
Notice:
Hi Reinhard,
Yes that is what I did in the beginning. Because I thought is was more logic to use a Grid for the form_contactlist.
But when you use a grid as the detail of master/detail form you do not have a Add button.
I only get an Add button when a use the grid as the master form and not as a detail form.
Maybe I do something wrong. It must be, because it is so basic stuff.
I need a grid in a detail where I can Add, Edit and Delete records.
Allthough the things in my previous posts are still a bug in SC.

Hi Reinhard,
That is why I use an editable grid view. This was also advised by another SC user.
I find this really strange because it is so basic.
When you already have a record in your detail grid then you can edit this record and then Add a new record from the edit form. This is still a strange way to go. But that works.
In another application I have created a button on the master form which links to my edit form to create a new record. But it confuses users to Add a contact by click on the Add button completely something else.
When I create a button on the detail form it does not show. It looks like a buttons disappear when you use the grid as a detail form.
But in a previous post you mention taht you have done a lot of master/detail forms. But how do you solve it.
Thanks
Andre
