Scriptcase 12 - what you think?

we need new MACRO.

I propose a name: sc_not_my_fault()

if will accept 2 parameters: 1) $who_screw_it 2) $date_of_fix
NOTE: $date_of_fix defaults to: $curent_year+1

BTW. What bothers me the most is NETMAKE ignorance nad carelessness. This is simply absolute lack of attention to details and in many cases simple stupid decissions. For example they prefer to loose a customer but not let him switch Lifetime License to Annual License.
They update SC without chaging the version numbers, they have AI and translation tools all around but cannot build even a simple sentence in English to properly explain how the Macro works.
Most ofr all - they throw lots of empty promisses and never keep them.
DOES IT SOUND LIKE A SINKING SHIP ? perhaps if they do not wake up, soon it will be to late…

you are TROLL?
I think you should study

While your use of sarcasm and negative remarks is noted, it would be more beneficial to the forum if you could specify the particular bugs in Scriptcase that have caused you significant difficulties. Sharing these details can lead to more productive discussions and potential solutions.

For me, scriptcase works great for quick crud applications, nothing too complex.

We have run an SC project to keep track of bugs and solutions, but it was abandoned, because NETMAKE did not want to get involved into any kind of cooperation and 99% of the bugs remained unfixed.

Albert - not only this but I noticed (if I am not mistaken) that SC prices wen downT
and that is also due to srinking userbase.

“rinolt” - yes I am a trol, double troll or whatever you want to call it… I really do not care much about your vocabulary, thank you for the rank

I have been using Scriptcase since version 5. I have been happy with it but I don’t develop apps for commercial use nor have I ever bought the support package. I develop my apps for free use. I understand the limitations and the cost of Scriptcase it is very cheap. Is it limited yes frameworks like this will always be limited in functionality. The biggest frustration I have had over the years has been the time in supporting PHP versions but, I deal will with it. So I guess I’m one of the happy customers of Scriptcase. This platform isn’t for everyone based on what they need or want or their skill level - most of the time Money will dictate that decision.

part1
I use SC to maintain an old application, it would not be my choice for new applications. it is clear a react/nextjs way to go, and AI to generate whole applications in just a few days.

part 2
i notice SC team struggles to fix bugs, and many improvements are to be made. there are good features but mostly half baked, not ready for a commercial usage. The focus on business intelligence was for me a deal braker, however i notice it is just lagging so much versus any reporting tool or powerbi.
SC is ok for backend or small projects but than read part 1

netmake should find an investor and rebuilt SC to react/js/AI generator driven design, i do not see many other options for them.

I don’t think that SC is cheap, especially for hobby projects. I agree with maximnl, although I believe that AI is very overcomplicating things. Very useful for minor problems, but creating complete applications requires that I have to enter a huge amount of specs, that I think that it can read my mind, or that I have to accept whatever it comes up with (and I have examples…). I think that a low-code platform is absolutely valid but SC struggles with legacy of the past. I wrote this before as modernizing probably would mean that it would break each and every project. Nothing wrong with react or other js frameworks, but certainly not my way to go to for many reasons, but that is just me

aducom, maximni - I do agree with many of your points. I do still say its cheap but, that’s based on my experience and background so just my opinion, I totally understand if others find it expensive. It works for me, and it is what it is and I don’t ask it to do more than it can. For more demanding commercial apps would I use it no. I’m someone that doesn’t think much of php but then again I didn’t think much of perl decades ago either LOL but used it and I’m one who has fond memories of assembly language - I guess I’m just a masochist :joy: Have a great week!
