Good afternoon,
Can we get a definitive “How To” on backing up Scriptcase development environment? When I search I find all sorts of ‘old’ suggestions but nothing that gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling that I’m doing it properly.
If I go into Scriptcase, Options, Settings, there is a Backup option. When I run the backup, it generates a zip file of what appears to be all my projects and their associated apps. I’ll call this file backup.zip for next paragraph.
In my research it seems we will need the nm_scriptcase.db to do a proper restore but when I search the newly generated backup.zip file, I don’t find the nm_scriptcase.db file at all…so I’m not sure I’d be able to restore from just the backup.zip file? Or when I do a restore from the backup.zip file, does it regenerate the nm_scriptcase.db database?
I’ve read where people are using backup software to backup the entire Netmake folder (which would include all the backups that have been saved to the default backup location). I’ve also seen people suggest only backing up the nm_scriptcase.db dabase as if that’s all I need.
Maybe they’re all correct but I’d like to see something recent and sanctioned by Scriptcase to confirm the best way to make a backup that you could subsequently restore from in the event your development machine died.
Thanks so much in advance.
Mark.
