security module force change password on first login

hi

using the security module that comes with SC8 how we force the user to change his password on the first login? is here option for that? or need a workaround?

The login module is just a template generated. There’s no default option for that, but you can easily build it in yourself.

just kidding, don’t know how to start even :slight_smile: i guess we need tutorial for that so everyone can benefit… i can only make redirect to change password page but if not changed and clicked anywhere else the user will go there!!

Just add a field to the password table ‘forcepsw’. When you add a user, or if the user adds himself you update this field to ‘Y’
In the sc_logon you go to the onvalidateok and just before the sc_redir you do a test on this field and do the appropiate sc_redir to the change password.
In the change password app you reset the forcepsw to ‘N’.

Could be done in 10 minutes :stuck_out_tongue:
