New here - I see the issues esp. w/ latest release. I have worked with various RAD tools - all have their warts.
Question regarding V8. Once you publish - is ScriptCase solid? Does it just prety much run without issue in production?
We run a lot of Scriptcase applications with virtually thousands of users and we don’t have issues in production. But working with Scriptcase does require to get knowledge about it’s warts… You have to be prepared to do some work-arounds if you encounter issues.
I concur with Albert. SC applications (version 8) have been very successful for me. The RAD features allow for a LEAN iteration cycle, and as long as you follow sound principles of programming and server configuration, the systems are professional. It is also still up to the developer to not open up holes or make the application look or behave badly. For people who like working in PHP, it consistently stays the top tool out there. Until version 9 becomes more mature, I advise people to use 8.1. Good luck Dan@Grand.
The bigger issue is the absence of the Scriptcase team from these forums. If you have a problem, and Albert cannot help, you are stuck.
You have to be very carefull on updates and Have a local production server for test. This is a great proyect and a wonderful tool. As you said, the lack support is a disadvantage. works fine in production.
Thank you all, your time is much appreciated.
