I was using a [global value] as fixed value in a grid-to-form link. When using Master→Detail forms one can choose global variables. That drop-down is out of no apparent reason not displayed in Grid→Application links.
IMO it would make sense (and would have saved me an hour of WTF).

Could you provide me a bit more information on this issue? Could you tell me step by step how you are trying to creating the link, starting at the point when you created the global variable?
In addition, how are you defining the global variable on the application? Was it on an event? If so, which event?
