[SOLVED] Version not permitted for this server

Hi all,

Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it? I have submitted a ticket but really need to keep working today if possible!

Yesterday everything was fine. Today whenever I try to generate application code I receive this error “Version not permitted for this server”.

???

Thanks
Rob

Hello,

Welcome to our Forum!

This isn’t actually a bug. This issue is probably happening because you have switched your PC and tried to register on a new computer using the old license.

Do not worry. In order to solve this, please get in touch with our support. Our chat is active on workdays from 8:00am to 6:00pm, and our ticket system is always available.

Hi Bernhard,

Thanks for your reply. No I haven’t switched PC, just put it to sleep yesterday and then started working on it again today! Hence why I’m claiming its a bug…

Anyway, I submitted a ticket but haven’t had a reply yet.

Thanks
Rob

Issue was fixed after re-generating the license through ‘my scriptcase’. Support suggested that the license file was corrupted somehow.

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback.

That can happen, specially if you have just installed and registered SC.

Scriptcase had been installed for over 2 months when this issue happened last week…

It just happened to me again now, so I went to try and regenerate the license only to find my Internet was offline. After rebooting my router and getting back online, I then logged out and back into scriptcase and the error had gone.

The internet where I currently live is quite bad and often drops out, goes slow, etc. Perhaps there is something here causing an error in the license??

Just a wild guess, would you register your ip number from time-to-time? Does it change after your internet comes back?

Hello,

I won’t say it isn’t that but I don’t think it is, as you can work on ScriptCase even if you have no internet access.

How is the IP used with the license? I work on a laptop and connect from home, internet cafes, usb 3G… the list goes on.

It’s done it again today… although I have client meetings all day and haven’t had time to look at it yet.

It was a wild guess. I don’t know if it works w.o. internet access, but you cannot simply move the instance to another machine as it won’t run. Could be mac address or something else. It would be great if it would as people now can only use one workstation. I can’t use it when I’m on a trip and have my laptop. Don’t want all on my laptop …

So this is the 3rd time in 2 weeks… however I’ve just done some troubleshooting and it’s definitely IP related. This morning I was working fine at home with an IP of 192.168.0.103. I then went into the office where I got a new IP (192.168.1.177) and also discovered that I can no longer build applications (version not permitted…)

If I turned off my wifi I could instantly build applications (no logout, no php restart…). If I manually set my IP address back to 192.168.0.103 I could still build applications. Also if I manually set my IP address to the new address 192.168.1.177 it still worked! However if I allowed DHCP to set 192.168.1.177 it broke again. Using Wireshark shows that there is no communication to netmake at all… it’s just checking my IP address!

Anyone from netmake care to comment? And I’d like the thread moved back to ‘bugs’ please…
