SQLite connection filename path

I wanted to create an empty SQLite project, add my database, create apps against the database, and so on.

Immediate problem: I get an error about the invalid connection, so I select Edit Connection and look for a way to specify where the database file is. It’s not there.

It was easy to set up an SQLite connection in SC9, but I can’t see any way to view or specify a database file path in SC10’s Edit Connection.

SQLite is a file based database, yet Edit Connection offers fields to set up my SQLite server’s IP address and password. It even has a tab to connect to an SSH server and establish a database server connection to this file-based database system using an SSH tunnel! Lol.

There needs to be some way to either specify a pathname to an SQLite database file, or at least display the pathname that the SC connection expects to exist so I can use the command line to manually copy a non-empty database file to where the connection can see it. Or, better yet, provide “Choose…” and “Upload” buttons in the New Project wizard (SQLite only) so the wizard can offer to create initial grid and form apps for each table.

To reproduce this:

  1. create a blank SQLite project.

I must be the first person to try to create an SQLite based project from scratch with SC10. I should get a t-shirt or something.

Okay, you can enter the pathname in the “Server Host or IP” field. Good grief.

So, that’s solved, but when you deploy this new app using typical deployment, include everything, and visit the new URL, you’re prompted to set up the “production environment” that includes a CAPTCHA challenge that is blank, so the “Save” button is never enabled.

I swear it’s exactly like no testing is done with Scriptcase, other than checking to see if old projects still work.
