Has anybody had any successful experience in creating an elegant way to add form fields where users can add/link tags (taxonomies/folksonomies) to a record?

I can create something that looks very clumsy (e.g., a nested form… yuck), but I’m wondering if anybody can share approaches that are more natural and user-friendly…?

I dont understand your question…
If you want to add fields you may be better of using a table with a field called fieldname and some id record.
It sounds like a standard 1:n connection you want to make…
