Unbale to deselect new or update in form options

I am unable to De-select a field in the form options from being used for adding new data. see script case help file which shows that it is possible.

navigate to Form Applications.
Then Form
Then Edit Fields.

whenever i deselect the new or the update check boxes and save the application. The boxes are automatically selected again.

is there anything that i need to do before getting these check boxes to remain unselected or it is a script case bug?

Not sure, I cannot reproduce…

You can deselect either New or Update but not both at the same time.
Which makes some kind of sense because otherwise you wouldn’t place it on the form at all or set it hidden.
