Update fails :-(

SC8 was installed from full setup package, using the default options & settings, on my Ubuntu 14.04 LTS notebook. SC8 appears on http://localhost:98 - The OS was a clean install for SC8.

When I run the ‘Scriptcase Update’, I get

ScriptCase Update

then

ScriptCase Update

Checking ScriptCase Update version…

ScriptCase will analyze your system and search for available updates.

Check ScriptCase Manual Updates
Check Production Environment Updates

I click the “Search for Updates” button. AFter a minute or so…

Any ideas on overcoming this?

i get this problem too. im using linux centos 6 64bit. please help!

I thought maybe this was a permission problem, but even after setting the SC install directory to a very risky 777, I get the same error.

Another extreme attempt; I disabled all firewalls and tried again. Same error!

I too had this - I was told it’s an apache config issue - however the logs didn’t really help me, and i’m no apache expert.

I ended up re-installing a new fresh copy of SC8 (which was v.002 by that point). The update process works now - so suspecting that version .000 (full install) didn’t configure apache correctly.

Check the second post from John on this post http://www.scriptcase.net/forum/showthread.php?6777-ScriptCase-v8-0-003-(08-13-2014-23-10)&p=25897#post25897

yep - all comes together!

You can do it with no fear! We recommend that type of procedure.
