URGENT MESSAGE TO FORUM ADMIN ! this really, really sucks!

Please change the settings so we can see full date of the post ! I am looking at the post and I do not know if it is from this ear OR 10 years ago! I requested this several times and you keep ignoriing it.

Do I really have to post some negative video on internet showing your ignorance ???

Why this attitude? Scriptcase is using a 3rd party forum, and it’s not their own. Comments about the forum can be posted here: GitHub - discourse/discourse: A platform for community discussion. Free, open, simple.

I know about third party,… etc.
There is no excuse for long term ignorance, because this was asked here already multiple times. It drives me nuts when I see the post and I do not know is it from last week or 5 years ago, and this is quite important to know.
It is a matter of twieaking a setting and it only takes few minutes.
as I see simple and polite behavior does not work, and everybody has different limit for patience…
That’s why attitude. I hate ignorance:-(

This is a user forum, not necessarily monitored by SC. Yes, now and then, a Dev will come in, usually for a short period, and then disappear for ages. So, you are not gaining attention from SC by doing this on the forum. I also have many comments, and I have shared them over time. At the university, we stick as we have a huge codebase that we can’t ignore. As written before, we are simply doing administrative applications, which works fine for that. SC’s attitude caused me, as a private company, to make different choices, and I moved after taking the time to migrate the software we built for our customers. Those are the choices. But ranting on the forum only annoys everyone willing to help you. Despite my personal choices, I still am on the forum with that purpose as I am still professionally involved with SC for the University of Groningen.

what are you talking about? Mine shows the date on the post as well as the full history slider on the right side.

rperrett - I am looking at your post and now I see DAY and MONTH, no year…
Do you see full date ? if not that is what I am talking about.
If you see the full date and I do not then let me know, perhaps there is something wrong on my end.

If the post is from 6 years ago I need to know and be aware of that, because things were very different then…

This post says clearly - MESSAGE TO ADMIN, so if youOK, not seeing full post date, you can simply ignore it. I know this forum is managed by somebody, right ? It does not run by itself, even if the Admin check in here only from time to time. Whoever is the admin, he needs to hear this, because what I am asking is the basic. Sicne there is not other way to contact (no Email, website etc.) then I see this as only way.

The display changes. If its recent then it only shows the days and month. If its older it shows the year. This is the same forum software that runs on hundreds of sites. I have attached screenshots to show you what I see.

First the word “recent” is relative. What is recent for you might not be for me. So does recent mean yesterday, last week, last month, last year ? this is non-sense terminology.

Second: I just did a search. It shows about 14 posts, none of them shows year. Why the hell I would have to waste time and dig into the message details to find out a date. I have run a forum in the past and everything was nice and clear, no issues with the posting dates. either this forum software simply suck, because it has no proper settings or the admin sucks and is unable to implement the simplest features.

Go to any phpBB forum. There are no issues of that kind

rperrett - your screenshot shows details, while I want to see the DATE on the message list, so I can make a decission to open it or not (if it’s too old).

Can you tell here what are the post dates (YEAR) ???

this is absolute ignorance, and lack of common sense

here is an example how the message list should look like:
nice, clean, readable and convenient
