use percent field in grid summary

Is there a way to use the percent field in a grid summary? I’ve been looking for 2 days and cannot find a way to make it work.

I have tried that, however when placing a field in the summary (group by) it does not allow for a Percent option… I only get, Integer, Decimal, and Currency.

I found a workaround for this. I changed the field type to currency and then changed the currency symbol to % and placed the symbol at end of field.
