Want grid search to use ID field instead of Lookup value

I have a table displayed in a grid and using Advanced Search (ScriptCase 8.1). The table being looked up has an ID field and then a corresponding string field for description via LookUp so the user can choose based on the description. But I’d like the search to use the ID field even though the user sees the description. Is there a way to accomplish this? Thank you.
