Webhelp and international characters

Webhelp in Scriptcase (8.1) does not show international characters in a right manner, nor does it make words with such characters searchable in the help index. Or I’m I missing some configs here? Try the norwegian word “s?keord” as an example (s?keord means search words). No hits and rubbish characters in the index…

Please see the attached screenshot, this is how international characters looks like in one of my helpcase projects in Scriptcase. Anyone that has got this to work with non-english characters? Or is this only related to the norwegian (and danish) ?,? and ? characters???

The words from the screenshot:

T?nsberg
S?keforslag

It is unclear to me what you mean. I assume you have the correct characterset for as well the database as for mysql server… Mostly strange character translations occur due to not having both properly set. e.g. database in utf8 and website in utf8 should work fine. We also had problems with characters but they resolved fine using the same charactersets.

Thanks rr, but I can’t understand that the HelpCase module (consists only of HTML files) should have anything to do with the characterset from the database. But I do understand that server settings (and project) might have some impact here, will do some combinations to see if I get it right. Thanks for the reply.
