What's is this price to renew?

Hello,

I have a lifetime licence with Starter kit at 849 $ USD. Also if I watch the price to renew, it’s 509,40 $ USD. An ANNUAL LICENSE for Starter Kit is only 399 $, so why I will be pay 509$ if I can buy just a new licence to 399 $ ?

Please, explain me

I have a lifetime license, but did not renew. Lifetime means that the version will not expire, so you can keep using it, even if your license stops. But you can’t upgrade to a higher version. It is meant to maintain your current projects.
If you buy a regular license, then it is cheaper, but if you do not renew then you will not be able to continue maintaining your old projects, it simply stops working.

In general license fee is 40% of the current sell price, if it has been expired it is 60% of the current price.

But this is afaik with some disclaimers. The prices have increased a lot over the recent years.

Oh, I think that I understand now.

So if I want to migrate my project to PHP 8.1, I must to buy a renew licence (40% today because my licence has expired). In one year if I dont’ renew, i can continue to use platform with my initial lifetime license with php 8.1 support ?

I’m not from SC, so I’m not sure, but if your license is expired you pay 60% of the current price. But PHP 8 is still in the v9 branch, so perhaps you can migrate anyways. Just try it I would say.
