This suggestion is intended to outline a change in Application Settings that can be made with ease by NetMake without too many changes to provide a sleeker UI when working with Application Settings.
Right now, we have the following ?Field" settings in several areas of an application:
Under ?Form Settings?
Edit Fields
Field positioning
Fields
Under ?Application Settings?
Fields
Could we move all these Field related settings to a new “Field Settings” menu item? We would then have one expanding menu option.
Like the following Example:
Field Settings
Table Fields Would show the current ?Application Fields? options
Properties Would show the current ?Edit Fields? options
Fields Would show the current ?Fields? options
Position Would show the current ?Fields positioning? options
Table Fields
Table Fields would move the ?Fields? settings from Application to the new Field Settings branch of Form Settings. This is the display of what Fields are in the currently selected Database/Table configuration.
Properties
Properties would move the ?Edit Fields? option where Fields Configuration is now to the new Field Settings branch of Form Settings.
Fields
Fields would move the ?Fields? options that currently show all the individual settings for a given field to the new Field Settings branch of Form Settings.
Position
Position would move the ?Field positioning? options that show how the order of the fields appear in the application to the new Field Settings branch of Form Settings.
These changes will reduce the number of settings we see in an Application at first glance making the UI a bit cleaner and more organized. Any Field related setting would be in just one area.
